'Next Time, Take Care of Your Own Shit'
- DeFi
- Security
Cover Protocol, a DeFi insurance project (ironically), was exploited via an infinite minting bug. The attacker created over 40 quintillion COVER tokens, sold enough to collect roughly 4,350 ETH (~$3 million), and crashed the token price by 80%. Hours later, Grap.Finance claimed responsibility and returned all funds with a message embedded in the transaction: 'Next time, take care of your own shit.' They kept only $173 as a symbolic 'tip.' The white-hat hacker burned the remaining minted tokens, turning what could have been a catastrophic loss into a legendary security lesson.
