Nobitex, Iran’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, was hit by a major cyberattack in which attackers drained tens of millions of dollars (roughly $80–$90 M+) from its hot wallets. The group calling itself Gonjeshke Darande (also known as “Predatory Sparrow”), believed to be linked to Israeli intelligence, claimed responsibility and framed the attack as targeting Iran’s sanctions-evasion infrastructure amid rising Iran–Israel tensions rather than for financial gain.
